I'm SO EXCITED to be starting this project tonight! I'm working this new series of workshops called Blessed Are the Queers alongside two of my wonderful classmates and collaborators from the CUNY School of Professional Studies MA in Applied Theatre. Join us in exploring queerness and ritual within the Christian tradition. Through a process of story-circles, discussions and devising we hope to discover and create ways that rituals can support queer folx on our spirutal journeys. This could include queering existing rituals or creating new rituals together to affirm, celebrate or find comfort and healing in the fullness of our personhood.
This project is open to all folx 16 and up who identify as LGBTQIA+ and are interested in exploring rituals in the Christian tradition. No prior experience with theatre or worship leadership is necessary.
